Lupins are a beautiful purple flower that bloom throughout parts of New Zealand in the Summer. With a flash of blue at its point, this ring reminds me of the purple lupins lining the banks of Lake Tekapo, one of the bluest lakes you’ll ever see - that true contrast between purple and blue.

This ring features a stunning purple pipe opal from Winton that has flashes of blue in the bottom tip. With an ironstone host rock, it is very unique (the host rock of most pipe opal is sandstone, but it does occur in ironstone). This opal is solid.

The ring has a hand stamped double band that is 8mm at its widest (thick bands are super comfy!). The ring face measures approximately 2cm x 1cm.

Size = US 8-8.5 / UK P-Q

Ring bands that are over 7mm wide fit about half a size tighter.

All Mahkato Silver pieces are handmade with genuine .925 Sterling Silver, slowly crafted in Kate’s Sunshine Coast studio, and feature unique hand stamped designs. All stones used are Australian, and cut/polished by local lapidary artists. The Mahkato Silver makers mark stamp is visible on the inside of ring bands, and on the backs of earrings, pendants / other pieces.

*OPALS

Mahkato Silver only uses SOLID opals. The true colour of your opal ring may vary slightly to the photograph. The colour of opals varies greatly with light and shadow. It’s also important to note that they’re a naturally occurring material and might include natural ‘imperfections’.
