Pink ‘opal’ is a prospectors name applied to a different variety of Mookaite that outcrops as a persistent bed of extremely bright pink opalised radiolarite near the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Up until 20211, the only other known source of this stone was Peru - so it is super cool to have some Australian material brought to you in this piece. The colour is best described as a musky, dusty pink.

This cuff features a beautiful piece of pink ‘opal’, from Western Australia.

This cuff is 14.5cm long (5.7 inches), with a 3.5 cm (1.3 inch) gap. This cuff is slightly adjustable but should not be continuously bent in and out - or you could cause the metal to crack over time.

The metal on the cuff is 2 cm wide, and features a signature Mahkato hand stamped band. The stone face measures 3.7cm x 1.4cm.

All Mahkato Silver pieces are handmade with genuine .925 Sterling Silver, slowly crafted in Kate’s Sunshine Coast studio, and feature unique hand stamped designs. All stones used are Australian, and cut/polished by local lapidary artists. The Mahkato Silver makers mark stamp is visible on the inside of ring bands, and on the backs of earrings, pendants / other pieces.
