The Deep Blue Tufa Stud Earrings (approx $540 USD)
These funky earrings feature 2 gorgeous, blue boulder opals from Quilpie, QLD. They can be worn casual, or totally dressed up with a fancy outfit. They attach with a stud post and standard butterfly clip.
Tufa is a porous rock that has been used for thousands of years in the jewellery making process, predominantly by Native Americans. These earrings have a unique, one-off mould hand carved in tufa. Hot metal has then been poured into the mould to create these beautiful ring bands. Each band is 100% handmade by Kate.
The diameter of the circular shape is: 2.3cm
The metal width on each earring is: 0.7cm
Weight per earring: 5 grams
All Mahkato Silver pieces are handmade with genuine .925 Sterling Silver, slowly crafted in Kate’s Sunshine Coast studio, and feature unique hand stamped designs. All stones used are Australian, and cut/polished by local lapidary artists. The Mahkato Silver makers mark stamp is visible on the inside of ring bands, and on the backs of earrings, pendants / other pieces.
*OPALS
Mahkato Silver only uses SOLID opals. The true colour of your opal ring may vary slightly to the photograph. The colour of opals varies greatly with light and shadow. It’s also important to note that they’re a naturally occurring material and might include natural ‘imperfections’.
IMPORTANT: Opal jewellery should be treated with care when worn. It is important to note that they are a natural material and can be subject to cracking if they are knocked against something hard, or dropped.
